Re: re: Frank Marino Tribute CD

They all did their own versions. I think only one is "note for note". Ah, sounds much better already ! Are there any really "strange" versions ? Like reggae/ska version of Poppy ? That would be hilarious... With horns... OMG... I can picture it already in my head...

No no, I really like the soothing atmostphere of Sheryl's version.

On the other hand I love Slash's solo in the original version though... :P

re: Frank Marino Tribute CD

Did any of these artists totally rearrange the original version ? Or are they all just note to note covers ?

Take for example Sheryl Crow. At first I thought her version of Sweet Child of Mine was just awful, but nowadays I like it better than the original Guns 'N' Roses version.

re: Re-Releases of older stuff

Why not release a collection of those jazzy songs that you have recorded along the years? You know, like "from the archives" kind of records. I would buy them for sure. Although I'm considering to buy these re-releases as well, but it's always more tempting to buy 100% "new" stuff.

re: Rock And Blues Festival... and the U.K.

I guess no Scandinavian dates have been planned?

However, I'm happy if new, decent DVD will be released sometime in the future...

I've always thought that "Sister Change" could provide some nice samples for a rap song. 8)
