No, not Frank's secret DJ name...if you look in a phone book that names a fairly common name. Bill Iammarino's a great guy and has been playing Frank's music a "long time"...and continues too.

A while ago I posted a review on a Dutch website called File Under: http://www.fileunder.nl/archives/2006/0 ... ists_6.php. Here's the translation:

VA - Secondhand Smoke (A tribute to Frank Marino)
(Wildmess Records.)

My guitar hero for the past 25 years or so has been Canadian bluesrocker Frank Marino. Of the older rock fans maybe one in ten will know of him, with younger rock fans one in a hundred is no less than optimistic. Fortunately Marino's career seems to pick up a little since last year. Jim West, owner of jazz label Justin Time Records, is prepared to put some money and effort in promotion and through his contacts with SPV a lot of older material - cleaned up by Marino himself - is rereleased in Europe as well. Coincidentally, a tribute album is released. Coincidentally, because Wild Willy Parsons, webmaster of the Marino web site, has been trying to get it off the ground for years. In the sleeve notes Marino is complimented by Steve Vai and Steve Lukather, who are painfully missing on the list of contributors. Still, that list leaves us with an impressive bunch of names, like George Lynch (ex-Dokken), John Norum (Europe), Ronnie Montrose, Randy Hansen and James Byrd. A nice mix of older and more recent songs with - of course - stunning guitar work. Sometimes a bit close to the original, sometimes in a very surprising rendition, like the electronic but gorgeous cover of "He's Calling" by Michael Jackson's former guitar player Jennifer Batten. The problem with tribute albums is that they are almost by definition not as good as the original, but amongst the loads of tribute albums that are released these days, this is definitely one of the better ones.

The album is only available online.

This has become one of my all time favorite's.
Also to retrack my stupid comment:

"Rick Schulz sounds like he must be an accomplished talented musician and does great on the “Reeds.” I’m not a fan of imitation instruments.
If you wanted a sax, get a sax. Is it not supposed to sound like a sax? Then get something else."

Not a bad track here, long live the heart and soul of rock and/or roll!!

Adventures in Plasticland is a great radio show. I listen to it when ever I get the chance ( and when I can stay awake). Stan Hilborn is also very open to requests. I'm glad to see that he now has Second Hand Smoke because he will play it.
Thanks for the info Rick.
